The Ministry of Education and Culture presented the National Educational Policy Plan 2020-2025 in which the ANEP actively participates as an autonomous entity. Pablo da Silveira, Minister of Education and Culture, and Robert Silva, President of the Central Directing Council of ANEP, explained the details of the project.
"An educational policy plan is a tool, an important instrument that educational entities carry out to specify the processes, (...) it is a roadmap through which to travel," Silva explained.
“In Uruguay it is significant and transcendent, because our country has a peculiarity that is its own and unique: the organizational structure of the governance of its education, and we are aware that it is a great challenge and that it is not easy because progress has been made, but It is necessary to continue within the framework of the tasks and responsibilities of each one ”, Silva added regarding the commitments assumed by the education authorities.
For his part, Pablo da Silveira commented on the plan considering the goals, indicators and characteristics of the guidelines set out: "... we aspire to make better use of resources and bring educational policies closer to the citizen debate."
Main guidelines
ANEP's educational policies for the period are framed by five main work guidelines, aimed at all public bodies involved in education:
- Citizen control and responsible management.
- More coordination for better use of resources.
- More opportunities for everyone.
- Quality apprenticeships, with an emphasis on the most vulnerable.
- Better trained teachers for a better education.
The guidelines have been consulted and coordinated with the CODICEN considering the autonomy and responsibilities of the entity.
The event was attended by authorities from the MEC, ANEP, the Technological University of Uruguay (UTEC), the Uruguayan Child and Adolescent Institute (INAU), the Ceibal Center, the National Institute for Educational Evaluation (INEED) and the National Institute for Employment and Training.
