In the final scrutiny, the class council proceeds to assign the scholastic credit to the pupils of the fifth grades of the upper secondary school, who will have to take the Maturity exam. How to proceed.

State exam 2021/22

The final state exam of the second education cycle as 2021/22, let us remember, is governed by OM n. 65/2022, issued pursuant to article 1, paragraph 956, of law no. 234/2021 and of article 1 of Legislative Decree no. 22/2020, converted into law no. 41/2020. Maturity 2022, two written and oral tests. Less weight in the second test. Here is ministerial order. DOWNLOAD PDF

The examination , based on the provisions of the OM mentioned above, consists of three tests :

  1. first national written test of Italian;
  2. second written test on one or more disciplines characterizing the course of study (prepared by all the teachers of the subcommittees operating in the school holding the discipline covered by the test itself);
  3. an interview.
  4. an interview

Internal Candidate School Credit

Who

All the teachers of the class council participate in the final scrutiny, for the purposes of admission to the exam and the attribution of academic credit to internal candidates.

The teachers of the Catholic religion or of alternative activities participate fully in the deliberations of the council, regarding the attribution of credit to students who have made use of these teachings.

Any teachers, who have carried out activities to expand and strengthen the training offer, on the other hand, provide information in advance, which the board must take into account for the aforementioned purposes (ie for the purposes of assigning credit).

How many

Ordinarily, pursuant to Article 15 of Legislative Decree n. 62/2017, the scholastic credit of the second two years and the last year amounts to 40 points: 12 points for the third class, 13 points for the fourth class, 15 points for the fifth class.

The aforementioned score of 40 points, as we read in article 11 of the OM, is raised to 50 points , in order to give greater weight to the scholastic path followed by the students.

How

The scholastic credit, with which the students participate in the exam, comes from the sum of the credit assigned for the third class and for the fourth class, to which the one attributed for the fifth class must be added. The attribution (for each year) takes place on the basis of the average of the marks obtained, which corresponds to the credit range which has two values: the minimum and the maximum, attributed according to the average reported (see below).

By virtue of the provisions of OM n. 65/2022 for the academic year 2021/22, the scholastic credit for the fifth class must first be attributed, adding it to that assigned for the third and fourth classes, on the basis of the table (Annex A) attached to Legislative Decree 62/2017 which is in the fortieth, and then convert the aforementioned credit into fiftieth, on the basis of table 1 in Annex C to the OM.

In practice, the credit is assigned in two steps:

  1. credit allocation in fortieth on the basis of Annex A to Legislative Decree 62/2017 (to this end the following is added: third year credit, fourth year credit and credit attributed for the fifth year);
  2. conversion into fiftieths, based on the table attached to the OM, of the credit attributed in fortieths.
