In 2021, AACRAO made impressive strides toward its Signature Initiative - Re-Envisioning Transfer. AACRAO members engaged with the topic of Transfer through multiple avenues in 2021, including in-depth Transfer sessions at both AACRAO’s 2021 Annual Meeting and the 2021 Transfer Practice Summit, a variety of webinars, several academic research reports, and finally, a joint statement from AACRAO, ACE (American Council on Education), and CHEA (Council for Higher Education Accreditation).
This statement outlines “...key considerations to help colleges and universities implement credit award policies that lead to greater student success and reflect equity-minded practice.” and is “...directed to college and universities concerned with the award of academic credit for learning acquired elsewhere. It sets forth the principles and key considerations that should serve as the foundation for sound, equity-minded institutional policies, and practices for the award of credit.”
All of these achievements would not have been possible without the tireless effort and support of our AACRAO members and their persistent dedication to student success. As we look forward to the upcoming year, we’d like to recognize the work completed and those who contributed to Re-Envisioning Transfer in 2021.
