Megan has worked in higher education since 2015. She began her career at Butler Community College as an Admissions Counselor, focusing primarily on student recruitment. After four years, she transitioned to the role of System Admin, where she managed the college’s CRM. In 2021, Megan joined the Institutional Research and Effectiveness team at Butler, serving as the quantitative research analyst. Megan joined K-State and the Global Campus in August of 2022 as the Director of Recruitment. Along with her professional employment in higher education, she has also made contributions to KACRAO, the Kansas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, as College Planning Conference Chair, Vice President for Professional Development, President-Elect, and President of the association. She received the Beth Tedrow Outstanding New Professional award in 2019. Megan graduated with a Master of Science in Education, with an emphasis in Higher Education Student Affairs from Fort Hays State University in 2020. She also holds a Master of Professional Studies in Organizational Leadership (2016), a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership (2014), both from Fort Hays State University, and an Associate of Science in Liberal Arts (2012) from Butler Community College.

Jill L. Manuel Jill is an Exploratory Academic Advisor at George Mason University where she also served as a Graduate Specialist for more than 3 years. Jill began her tenure in higher education in the Virginia Community College System where she learned the true diversity of the college and university student. Having been a non-traditional, or “contemporary” student herself, Jill has learned first-hand the need for holistic student support and equitable access to resources. Jill earned her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of South Alabama and a master’s in Higher Education Administration and Student Development from George Mason. Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Education with a focus on Higher Education and a research interest in students with Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), Jill hopes to provide students with holistic support to facilitate student success, however they may define that success. Jill has been fortunate to participate in Hill Day and the Baden-Württemberg Seminar with AACRAO in the past and is grateful for the continued opportunities provided by AACRAO.

I am currently at the University of Minnesota and have worked in the Office of the Registrar there for 3 years. I have recently joined the Athletics team within the office. Outside of work, I enjoy gardening, the food scene in the Twin Cities, and exploring the Minnesota State parks.

It has been my privilege and pleasure to work for more than 30 years in the Registrar’s Office at the University of Florida, one of the largest and most comprehensive public universities in the US. After graduating with a bachelor’s graduate from the University of Florida, I found my first job at my alma mater. Little did I know at that time that the “job” would become a career and a passion that would last the entirety of my life! During my tenure, I have been charged and challenged with responsibility for virtually every facet of the operation of the office, working with numerous new system implementations and integrations and have had the honor of mentoring many professional staff members. Fostering of professional growth is a key value of mine and is evidenced in my regular attendance and participation as a presenter at state, regional and national conferences. I have spent the past six years supporting FACRAO as a member of the executive committee, including two terms as President. I have served as VP for Communications and Recognition, LAC committee member and on programming committees for SACRAO. I have also served AACRAO as volunteer coordinator for the annual conference in Orlando in 2018 as well as on programming committees for many years.

Worked at ESU for 10 years, Allen County Community College 3 years as Director of Outreach Student Services, 16 years at Flint Hills Technical College as Dean of Enrollment Management. I have been involved in KACRAO for 22 years, and I am now Past President of KACRAO. I stay active in the community and help students whenever I can. I believe we can make a difference and provide the opportunity to educate students and parents.

I began my career working with student-athletes as an academic counselor and tutor coordinator at the University of Tennessee in 2006. Moving to Texas in 2015 to become the Assistant Registrar for Athletic Certification I quickly learning all of the inner workings of the Registrar and became Associate Registrar in 2016. During this time, I oversaw the Records, Registration, Transcripts, Transfer Credit, Degree Conferral, and customer service areas of the office implementing Perceptive Content workflow to remove paper processing of incoming forms. In 2020, I became Deputy Registrar while working to automate and streamline processes for a better student and staff experience during the global pandemic. Since then, we have developed online forms, implemented Salesforce CRM, Courseleaf for course scheduling, and Marching Order for an enhanced Commencement experience. In addition, we are finalizing PeopleSoft workflow and have automated some academic standing processes while continuing to work on others. In my spare time, I work as a fitness instructor at Pure Barre Frisco where I am trained in 5 class formats and love assisting our clients on their fitness journey. I enjoy cooking, football, barre classes, and spending time with my friends and family!

Michael Couch

Assistant Director of Financial Aid Compliance & Training at Oakland University

Michael is a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, he currently serves as Associate Director of Financial Aid at Oakland University. Couch’s educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science from Grand Valley State University, a Master of Arts in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Western Michigan University, and an Educational Doctorate with an emphasis in Community College Leadership from Ferris State University.

He is an award-winning student affairs professional with a variety of experiences at various colleges and universities (For Profit, Community College, four-year public and private, and Minority Serving institutions). He engages in research, presentations, and critical conversations about college affordability, enrollment management, leadership assessments, leadership experiences of African American males, and minority male initiatives.

Corinne MacIntire


Corinne MacIntire was responsible for the association's branded presence including emails, the website, social platforms, and community forums ensuring consistent voice and message across all AACRAO offerings.

Corinne MacIntire worked at AACRAO since 2006, serving most recently as Director, Communications and Marketing. During her time at AACRAO she has worked in the Membership, Publications, and Communications departments. She has attended 12 Annual Meetings and oversaw the production of more than 10 AACRAO print publications.
 
She received a Bachelor's Degree in Art History from University of Maryland in 2011 and will begin coursework towards a Masters in Teaching at Towson University in 2023. 
 
A Washington, DC area native, Corinne enjoys visiting local museums, mushroom foraging, and growing her cut flower garden.

Lisa Perry, Ed.D., is the Director of UC Merced’s Students First Center (SFC). She has been with the SFC since the campus opened in fall 2005 and is a key player in the development and implementation of the department, which primarily serves the Offices of Admissions, Financial and Scholarships and Registration. She and her staff strive to encourage student self-sufficiency and success using social media and technology. Lisa has shared her expertise on one-atop development and student service technologies with colleges and universities throughout the United States and Canada. In her role, she also routinely works with the UC Office of the President to increase the number of online course offerings across all ten UC campuses. Perry is a graduate of California State University, Chico, and California State University, Stanislaus, and has worked in all three tiers of California’s higher education system. She authored a chapter titled “What was it like? Being in the Pioneer Class at UC Merced,” which appeared in New Directions for Higher Education Special Issue: From Rangeland to Research University: The Birth of University of California, Merced and has recently completed a dissertation titled “One Stop Enrollment Management Service: An Evaluation of The Relationship Between Centralized Services and New Student Enrollment.”

Diane Treis, Ed.D.

Dir., Acad. Programs and Student Learning Assessment, U of Wisconsin System Administration

Diane Treis, Ed.D., has more than three decades of public service in education, local government, and economic and community development. She currently serves as the Director of Academic Programs and Student Learning Assessment for the University of Wisconsin System Administration. In this role she provides consultation to UW System faculty and staff in the development of academic degree programs to meet current workforce and student demand. She serves as the principal system resource on matters relating to the assessment and credit award for prior learning and she has led major initiatives relative to the recognition of prior learning, credit transfer, degree completion, and other high impact educational practices at the system, state, and national level. Treis Rusk holds a Doctor of Education in higher education leadership, policy and organization from Vanderbilt University. She also has a Master of Science in human ecology and Bachelor of Science in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Lydia Liu, Ph.D.

Principal Research Director in charge of three ETS research centers

Lydia Liu, Ph.D., is Principal Research Director in charge of three ETS research centers: Center for Education and Career Development, Center for Language Education and Assessment Research, and Center for K12 Teaching, Learning, and Assessment. Dr. Liu is an expert in assessment and research of critical competencies in higher education. She has also managed several grants awarded by the National Science Foundation and other funding agencies in the United States, India, China, and Korea. Dr. Liu has authored and coauthored more than 90 peer-reviewed journal articles, research reports, and book chapters in the fields of applied measurement, higher education, and science assessment. Dr. Liu received the 2019 Robert Linn Memorial Lecture Award and 2011 National Council on Measurement in Education Jason Millman Promising Measurement Scholar Award in recognition of her original and extensive research in learning outcomes assessment in higher education and K–12 science assessment. Dr. Liu holds a doctorate in quantitative methods and evaluation from the University of California, Berkeley.

Guangming Ling, Ph.D.

Director of the Center for Education and Career Development at ETS

Guangming Ling, Ph.D., is Director of the Center for Education and Career Development at ETS, Research and Measurement Science area. His research focuses on the assessment and training of critical competencies in higher ed and the workforce, as well as a broad range of topics in applied measurements, such as test validity and fairness issues, higher education learning outcomes assessment, rating issues with constructed responses, test mode effects, computerized adaptive testing, an application of latent variable models. Dr. Ling’s research has appeared in more than 40 peer-reviewed journal papers, book chapters, research reports, and more than 80 conference presentations. Dr. Ling holds a Ph.D. in psychometrics/quantitative psychology from Fordham University.

Harrison Kell, Ph.D.

Senior Research Scientist in the Center for Education and Career Development at ETS

Harrison Kell, Ph.D., is a Senior Research Scientist in the Center for Education and Career Development at Educational Testing Service (ETS) in Princeton, New Jersey. Dr. Kell’s expertise lies in the assessment of cognitive (e.g., verbal and mathematical reasoning) and noncognitive skills (e.g., intercultural relations, personality traits). He has developed assessments relevant to student admissions and personnel selection (e.g., situational judgment tests [SJTs]), performance evaluation (e.g., behaviorally anchored rating scales [BARS]), and performance improvement (e.g., feedback interventions). He serves as a content expert for the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) program. Dr. Kell has published articles in peer-reviewed journals such as Psychological ScienceJournal of Applied PsychologyPerspectives on Psychological ScienceJournal of Organizational Behavior, and chapters in multiple edited volumes (e.g., APA Handbook of Career Intervention, The Science of Expertise). His practical research interests concern the relationship between relatively stable human attributes (e.g., personality traits, cognitive skills) and human performance, broadly construed (e.g., career success, creativity, job tenure and retention). Dr. Kell’s theoretical research interests lie in strengthening the soundness of interpretations of those attributes, in order to improve the validity and fairness of decisions based upon them (e.g., admissions, development, selection). Dr. Kell received his Ph.D. in industrial/organizational psychology in 2011 from Rice University and was a postdoctoral fellow in the quantitative methods program at Peabody College, Vanderbilt University from 2011 to 2014.

Sara Haviland, Ph.D.

Research Scientist in the Center for Education and Career Development (CECD) at ETS

Sara Haviland, Ph.D., is a Research Scientist in the Center for Education and Career Development (CECD) at Educational Testing Service in Princeton, NJ. She studies the social contexts of education and careers, with a focus on access and equity. She has worked on a variety of grant-funded research and evaluation projects related to career pathways, adult learning, workforce development, and employer engagement. Dr. Haviland holds a M.A. and Ph.D. in sociology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a B.A. in social theory and ethics from Oglethorpe University.

Sugene Cho-Baker, Ph.D.

Associate Research Scientist in the Center for Education and Career Development at ETS

Sugene Cho-Baker, Ph.D., is an Associate Research Scientist in the Center for Education and Career Development at ETS. Her research centers on exploring faculty and student perceptions on graduate school admission processes, ongoing changes in the admissions processes in higher education, and the association between GRE tests scores and graduate student performance outcomes. Another major strand of her research is on exploring young adults’ perceptions regarding career and technical education and the alignment between labor market demands and individuals’ personal interests in technical careers. Across all topics of her research, emphasis is placed on how the findings vary by gender, race/ethnicity, and socioeconomic status. She earned her Ph.D. in 2020 in human development and family science from the Ohio State University.

Reginald M. Gooch

Research Associate at ETS

Reginald M. Gooch is a Research Associate at ETS. He holds an M.A. in second language education from McGill University and a B.A. in international studies from the University of Washington. His research interests include equity in higher education admissions, culturally responsive assessment, and English language teaching and learning. Prior to his time at ETS, he worked as a test developer and English language teacher in South Korea.

Jose Sotelo

Graduate Fellow at ETS

Jose Sotelo is a Graduate Fellow at ETS where his work centers around the holistic admissions process in secondary education. His work at ETS tries to triangulate and define the holistic admissions process by investigating ideas that different stakeholders have about admissions. He is also currently a Ph.D. student at Northwestern University where he studies cognitive psychology. His work at Northwestern focuses on how individuals represent and navigate space, as well as how they use those representations to problem solve.
