AACRAO's Strategic Enrollment Management Endorsement Program (SEM-EP) will soon receive its 100th applicant to the program and it could be you!!
In 2012, AACRAO launched the first "endorsement" in the field of Strategic Enrollment Management. Currently, there are nearly 50 enrollment professionals pursuing the endorsement, which offers the development of skills in the SEM field to meet the current and future challenges in the industry. Learners gain proficiencies in a variety aspects of enrollment management. The curriculum includes completion of webinars, three field visits, the
Essentials of SEM Online course, and a capstone.
AACRAO's Strategic Enrollment Management Endorsement Program (SEM-EP) provides a well-defined, self-paced professional development program and career advancement track for enrollment service professionals.
For the individual, completion of the program is a valuable addition to a resume and a formal recognition by AACRAO regarding professional readiness to meet current and future challenges in the field. For the institution, the program offers a way to evaluate the preparedness of prospective employees for SEM positions.
The most recent graduate of the SEM Endorsement was Stacey Maestas, Registrar at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Maestas' capstone was entitled,
“Improving Processes in Support of Student Retention,” which
was a literature review that explored how changes in institutional processes achieved through student, staff, and faculty engagement and cross-campus collaboration can positively impact student success and retention. Upon graduation from SEM-EP, professionals are listed on the
SEM-EP National Registry.
