AACRAO’s 2024 Hill Day application is now open. This event is an opportunity for AACRAO members to engage with Congressional offices to discuss their perspective, as first-hand practitioners, on how policy impacts their daily work. In the past, Hill Day was held in tandem with the Leadership Meeting; however, this year, AACRAO is hosting a stand-alone Hill Day event from July 21 - 23, 2024.

Note:  Advocates are expected to cover their transportation, while AACRAO will cover lodging and food.

This is a tremendous professional development opportunity to grow your network and also receive advocacy training. In the words of AACRAO Government Relations Senior Director William Gil, “This is part of AACRAO’s strategic goal of engaging more policy decision-makers and ensuring that they are aware of members’ issues.”

When meeting with Congressional offices during the Hill Day event, AACRAO advocates will be able to discuss the association's legislative priorities. In the past, this has included supporting the #DoublePell campaign, updates to FERPA, advancing reverse transfer practices, and other Higher Education Act reauthorization policy priorities.

How to apply:

Participation in the 2024 Congressional Hill Day is open to all AACRAO members. Those interested should complete the application form by May 24, 2024.
