AACRAO’s annual call for new members for the Public Policy Advisory Group (PPAG) is now open. The group provides an essential practitioner perspective on emerging higher education policy issues. In addition, it serves as an invaluable resource to AACRAO's Executive Director and Government Relations staff as they craft responses to proposed legislation and regulations.

"The professional knowledge and expertise of AACRAO members is critical to our understanding of and influence on relevant issues," said Michelle Mott, Associate Director of Government Relations at AACRAO. "PPAG really serves as a sounding board for the association. The group’s input shapes our stances on policy developments and helps to ensure that well-intentioned proposals do not negatively impact students and institutions."

Each year, the association adds up to four new members to this group. We encourage each of you to consider applying to more actively engage with public policy issues affecting your professions, the students you serve, and higher education as a whole.

Join AACRAO's Public Policy Advisory Group (PPAG)

The Advisory Group consists of 8-12 AACRAO members selected based on their areas of expertise and type of institution and will be representative of the regional, gender, and ethnic diversity of the association. Members will be appointed for a three-year term.

Areas of expertise may include:

  • admissions,

  • enrollment services,

  • financial aid,

  • access and equity,

  • serving veterans and servicemembers,

  • community colleges,

  • graduate and professional education,

  • competency-based education,

  • credit for prior learning, and others.

We look forward to forming a dynamic, engaged group that will help the association respond to legislative and regulatory proposals and keep the membership abreast of emerging federal relations and policy initiatives, developments, interpretations, and implementations.
