Members make work groups work
Through its work groups, AACRAO has provided guidance to its membership on transfer initiatives, disciplinary notations on transcripts, and gender identity (coming soon). These reports are invaluable to maintaining the integrity of our members’ day-to-day work and keeping them up to date on best practices.
In the coming months, AACRAO is looking to provide guidance on many topics and needs volunteers from the membership to lead these initiatives.
Call for Volunteers
"As institutions enhance their focus on student success, the role of Admissions and Registrar professionals in student success comes to the forefront," said Tammy Aagard, AACRAO Vice President for Admissions and Enrollment Management. "The AACRAO Board of Directors has selected student success as one of our strategic initiatives. To support that initiative, we input from the members. The Student Success workgroup will provide clear recommendations that will guide decisions by the Board, but most importantly will support the members as they focus on student success on their own campuses."
The AACRAO Student Success Workgroup will identify needs of the membership in the areas of professional development, resources, and technology related to improving student success. Read more.
"We are also excited to see the outcomes of the workgroups focusing on State and Regionals, Admissions Career Path, Veterans Reporting, and Criminal history/disciplinary notations in Admissions (coming soon)," Aagard added. "We appreciate the willingness of the members to engage in these very important initiatives."
The primary purpose of the “How to Run a State and Regional Organization Guide” workgroup is to develop a publication that will be made available to AACRAO State and Regional Organizations that contains best practices, examples, and suggestions that affiliated State and Regional Organizations of all sizes may reference as they develop and/or improve their organization. Conduct a review of Admissions training and professional development offered by AACRAO and suggest content to train admissions professionals at entry, intermediate and expert levels. Examine best delivery methods for content (publications, in-person training, web short courses and possible certificate programs). Read more.
