The final day encapsulated school visits, economic insights, and statistical data, illuminating key facets of Baden-Württemberg's identity.

In the English class from 9:40 am to 10:25 am, there was so much enthusiasm! Around 30 students actively participated as the teacher used engaging PowerPoint presentations and encouraged questions. The class had a lively vibe, and the teaching approach was interactive and dynamic. I was really impressed by how the teacher explained new vocabulary through conversations and questions, keeping the students' hands constantly up. The class had a fantastic flow, starting with icebreakers, moving to listening exercises, discussions, textbook reading and speaking, and ending with note-taking summarizing the conversation.

During the Biology class from 10:30 am to 11:15 am, it was incredible to see all students equipped with iPads. The teacher seamlessly airdropped worksheets, embracing technology for learning. I noticed the absence of strict dress codes; students wore hoodies and baseball caps, making the atmosphere comfortable and relatable. What amazed me even more was the diverse student body—25% were bilingual students, creating a rich learning environment.

Despite the fast pace, everyone was engaged, and there were no dropouts, indicating a positive and inclusive learning community.

  • Economic Growth: Statistical data showcased Ulm's remarkable economic growth, with its GDP rising from €14.5 billion in 2000 to €27.1 billion in 2020, equivalent to Iceland's GDP.

  • Employment and Challenges: While Ulm boasted a low unemployment rate of 2.5% in 2022, challenges such as the need for 5 million more workers by 2030 and language barriers highlighted areas for strategic focus.
