Sarah Reed (she/her) is the University Registrar at the University of California, Berkeley, bringing over 20 years of experience in higher education administration. Her career spans roles in academic and student affairs, with a significant portion dedicated to serving as registrar. In her role as University Registrar, Reed serves as a key leader in academic administration, overseeing the development and implementation of academic policies, the integrity of student records, and the seamless management of processes such as enrollment, course scheduling, and graduation certification. Her work ensures operational efficiency, academic integrity, and service excellence across the university community.
Before joining UC Berkeley, Reed held leadership positions as the Registrar at UC Law San Francisco, the Law School Registrar at the University of San Francisco School of Law, the Director of Undergraduate Programs at the University of San Francisco of Management, and the Coordinator of Orientation and Administration at Florida Gulf Coast University. Her academic credentials include a Master of Arts in Organization and Leadership from the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor of Arts in Women’s Studies from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, where she competed as a Division 1 Rower and earned the Most Valuable Oarswoman her novice year.
Reed is a dedicated member of the American Association for Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers and the Pacific Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers. She has served in various leadership roles, including co-hosting AACRAO’s For the Record podcast, using the platform to amplify colleagues’ voices, challenge systemic inequities, and encourage authenticity in higher education, while actively pursuing one’s greatest potential and purpose. In 2024-2025, Reed participated in the AACRAO ASCEND Leadership Development Program.
In 2024-2025, Reed served as the Chair-Elect of the AACRAO Nominations and Elections Committee, and she is currently serving as the Chair in 2025-2026.
