The AACRAO LEAD initiative is seeking a cohort of diverse individuals who hold executive and senior positions in enrollment management-related professions from a variety of locales, institution sizes and types to become Faculty and Coach/Mentors for the AACRAO Stands by Our Commitment to Nurturers of Diversity (ASCEND) Leadership Development Program for Mid-level Professionals.
Ideal candidates will have a minimum of seven (7) years of leadership experience in one of the enrollment service areas, including but not limited to:
- Enrollment Management
- Registrar/Enrollment services
- Financial Aid
- Academic Support Services
A demonstrated commitment to the principles and actions of diversity and inclusion are also crucial to the success of this program.
The ASCEND Leadership Development Program
is a unique leadership development program targeted to diversifying the enrollment management profession so that institutions may benefit from a deeper pool of knowledge and expertise as they face the challenges of the future enrollment landscape. The program seeks to grow and develop a diverse cohort of mid-level professionals in a multi-pronged approach, preparing leaders to take on roles in Enrollment Management in North America and around the globe.
Faculty will lead the inaugural cohort through a year-long curriculum that incorporates the essential competencies required to take the next step in enrollment management leadership. The curriculum design will incorporate the AACRAO Professional Competencies and Proficiencies and leverage existing professional development opportunities offered by AACRAO.
Coaches will be assigned to each participant as additional support and guide customized to the individual needs and goals of the participant.
We anticipate the launch of ASCEND at the 29th Annual Strategic Enrollment Management Conference November 3-6, 2019 in Dallas, TX. Faculty and mentors will begin their work in the months preceding.
