AACRAO International Education Services (IES) is ready to take its partnership with Parchment to the next level by implementing the Parchment Exchange Platform. To date, Parchment has exchanged almost 10 million transcripts and counts institutions from almost 80 countries among its active members. AACRAO IES delivers more than 10,000 evaluations each year to 1,500 U.S. postsecondary institutions, associations, state boards and US government entities. IES receives academic records from nearly 20,000 international schools, institutions, and accrediting bodies.
Through Parchment’s partnership with TrueCopy Credentials PVT LTD, which is the leading exchange platform for electronic transcripts in India, AACRAO IES and Parchment are currently undertaking a joint effort that would greatly reduce the workload and the time necessary for verifying foreign academic records. This joint initiative is designed with the scope of facilitating the process of verification for both the admitting institution and the student, which in the end will speed up the foreign credential evaluation process.
TrueCopy Credentials has partnered with Indian higher education institutions to transmit student records in electronic form. It currently has 17 institutions in its system, which includes the University of Mumbai and the University of Pune. TrueCopy is able to receive electronic versions of academic records from partnering institutions through a secure network and then forward those to the final recipient. This process ensures that transcripts are not modified or tampered with, therefore, protecting the reputation of the sending Indian University. For Indian students this eliminates the need to request hard copies of their records via mail.
The Parchment Exchange Platform will be used to request academic records when AACRAO IES applicants have attended Indian institutions. Parchment will forward the request to TrueCopy partner institutions, who will ensure a speedy and secure implementation of the request.
