The 2017–18 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) season will begin earlier than previous FAFSA application cycles

Beginning on Oct. 1, 2016, students will be able to fill out the FAFSA for the 2017–18 school year. (In the past, they had to wait until January 1). In addition, applicants will no longer need to estimate income and tax information and will be able to retrieve their data directly from the IRS, right from the first day the FAFSA is available. Students also will have information about their Expected Family Contributions earlier, helping them as they’re going through the college application and selection process.

Presenter: Dr. Clayton Smith, Associate Professor at University of Windsor and Director, AACRAO Strategic Enrollment Management Conference

Dr. Clayton Smith is an associate professor at the University of Windsor, Canada in the Faculty of Education. He has spent 31-years engaged in higher education administration at four post-secondary education institutions in Canada and the U.S.  Most recently, he completed two terms as vice-provost, student affairs and dean of students at the University of Windsor where he oversaw a far-reaching portfolio that included academic governance, enrolment management, internationalization, student affairs.  He currently serves as director of the AACRAO Strategic Enrollment Management Conference and as an AACRAO Consulting senior consultant.

Presenter: Dr. Christopher Tremblay, Director, AACRAO SEM Endorsement Program

Dr. Christopher Tremblay serves as Director of the AACRAO SEM Endorsement Program while also serving as a Research and Marketing Consultant for Michigan State University's Gifted and Talented Education (GATE).  Tremblay earned his Doctor of Education degree from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and also holds a post master's degree in enrollment management from Capella University.

SEM-EP is an educational training opportunity resulting in a professional endorsement designed to prepare and recognize enrollment management professionals at the national level through an online registry. This part of the webinar will cover information regarding program admission, learning outcomes, educational components, and benefits.

Presenter: Dr. Wayne Sigler, Senior Consultant with AACRAO Consulting

Dr. Wayne Sigler is a nationally respected enrollment management practitioner, consultant, author and speaker with particular expertise in enrollment management, transformational leadership and management, marketing, recruitment, performance management, student services and customer service.Dr. Sigler has been a Senior Consultant with AACRAO Consulting since 2006. He served as Vice President for Enrollment Management and Chief Enrollment Officer at George Mason University from July 2012 until July 2014. Prior to joining Mason, he served as Director of Admissions at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities for twenty years, building an undergraduate admissions program that is regarded as one of the elite programs in both the Big Ten and the United States.

Moderator: Kimberley Buster-Williams, Vice President for Enrollment Management at the University of Mary Washington

Kimberley Buster-Williams currently serves as Vice President for Enrollment Management at the University of Mary Washington. Buster-Williams has more than two decades of experience in higher education, including senior administrative assignments at Northern Illinois University and the University of Michigan-Flint. Her background includes extensive work in strategic planning, enrollment management in the academic context, access and diversity, branding/marketing, and assessment.
