Since its founding in 1919, the Institute of International Education (IIE) has conducted an annual census of international students in the United States. Open Doors, supported in its implementation by IIE, has long been regarded as the authoritative information resource on international students and scholars in the United States and on U.S. students studying abroad.

Recently, the IIE launched the Fall 2022 International Students with Disabilities Survey. Created with the support of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, the International Students with Disabilities Survey seeks to identify the availability of data collected and reported on regarding international students with disabilities and examines how higher education institutions support these students. All U.S. higher education institutions are welcome and encouraged to participate in this survey. All institutional-level responses will be anonymous and only aggregated information will be shared.

The findings from this survey will release on November 14th, the first day of International Education Week. Those interested in the summary of results should visit the IIE website. The deadline to complete this survey is October 6th, 2022.

Information from AACRAO's membership helps support the robust data set that underlies these reports. Your institution's participation is helpful and we encourage you to participate in the International Students with Disabilities Survey, in support of our colleagues at IIE.

Please contact relsurveys@iie.org for any questions regarding this survey.

The American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) is a partner organization with IIE along with the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU), American Council on Education (ACE), Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU), College Board, Community Colleges for International Development (CCID), Council of Graduate Schools (CGS), National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), and the Association of International Educators (NAFSA).
