Tara Kent, Ph.D., currently serves as Director, Enrollment Registrar at CUNY Brooklyn College, where she provides strategic leadership in student records, registration, and academic policy administration. With over 15 years of experience in higher education, Dr. Kent has built a comprehensive career within registrar offices across a diverse range of institutions, including small and large, private and public, and for-profit and nonprofit colleges and universities. Her professional experience includes prior roles as Director of the Registrar and Associate Registrar, where she led initiatives to strengthen enrollment services, regulatory compliance, and student success.
Dr. Kent is an active and engaged member of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO). She serves on the Public Policy and Advocacy Group (PPAG), is a member of the Small College Committee, and has contributed written work to the AACRAO Connect. She is also an ASCEND alumna and an AACRAO Hill Day participant. In addition, she serves as Vice Chair of the AACRAO Black Caucus and as the 2026 Vice Chair of the Nominations and Elections Committee. Through her leadership and service, Dr. Kent is committed to advancing equity, professional development, and innovation in higher education administration.
