AACRAO Elections Position Statement (2024-2025 Nominations & Elections Committee)
I feel honored to be nominated for AACRAO’s Nominations and Elections (N&E) Committee. As my professional career has centered around the registrar profession, I have been a member of AACRAO for the past 30-plus years and have participated in its progress to see it develop into the outstanding professional association it is today. Over the past ten years, I felt I needed to give back to the profession that has given me so much success. My AACRAO contributions have primarily been around presenting at the Annual Meeting and AACRAO Transfer & Tech, as well as being a committee member for the Information Systems and Technology Committee, serving as Vice-Chair for three years and Chair for four years. I currently serve as the Group VI Program Coordinator on the Program Committee. I have also participated in Hill Day and contributed to articles in College & University.
N&E holds one of the most critical responsibilities within AACRAO leadership – to recruit a slate of diverse and qualified set individuals for our Board and the N&E Committee. If nominated and elected, my overarching goals will be to collaborate with fellow Committee members to solicit nominations through a wide swath of our membership and be inclusive of admissions, registrars, enrollment managers, technologists, international affairs officers, student affairs leaders, and other higher education and high school professionals represented within the extensive AACRAO umbrella. This outreach should be inclusive of community colleges, liberal arts colleges, public and private universities, for-profit institutions, technical schools, HBCUs, and women’s colleges. Soliciting nominations from our diverse caucus structure and ensuring that all voices and heard and respected is critical to our continued success.
