Product Manager in Information Technology

It is an honor to accept the nomination to be considered as a candidate for the Nominations and Elections Committee.

I have worked in higher education for over 10 years, holding roles in scheduling and degree audit. While learning and working in higher education, I maintained a focus on students and have gained a focus in technology by more recently accepting the position of Product Manager in Information Technology. In this new role, I assist with enhancing the student experience. In addition to student focused work, I also work in fostering an environment of diversity and inclusion and served as the Chair of my department’s Diversity and Inclusion Council.

Introduced to AACRAO at the beginning of my career in higher education, I longed for the day to be more involved. COVID world gave me an opportunity to attend my first AACRAO annual conference in 2021 virtually and I immediately found ways to be involved. I currently serve as the Vice Chair of Social Media and Communications for the Black Caucus, I presented a session at the 2022 Annual Conference, and I recently became a new member of the Information Systems Technology Committee and an Advocate for Congressional Hill Day 2022.

If elected to the Nominations and Elections Committee, I would bring fairness to the selection process through a lens of diversity and inclusion, excellent communication skills to aid in the solicitation for nominations and the ability to quickly learn processes, to work effectively alongside my fellow committee members to put forth the best slate of officers to the membership for Board of Directors vacancies and Nomination and Elections committee members.

With my career background and eagerness to be involved in AACRAO, I would welcome the opportunity to serve on the Nominations and Election Committee.
