Overview

The Assembly: AACRAO Learning Mobility Convening is built for higher education professionals ready to do the work of change.

This is not a traditional conference centered on passive attendance. The Assembly is a working convening where participants collaborate on real challenges learners and institutions face. Through facilitated project-based learning, shared problem-solving, and focused discussion, participants examine barriers, test ideas, and contribute to practical solutions that can move learning mobility forward.

Each year, The Assembly focuses on urgent challenges in areas such as credit mobility, transfer, technology, skills and competencies, and learner-centered pathways. Participants should come prepared to engage actively, share institutional experience, work across roles and sectors, and leave with tangible next steps.

The Assembly is open to anyone committed to improving learning mobility in higher education.

Who Is An Active Collaborator?

The Assembly brings together professionals dedicated to advancing learning mobility across the postsecondary landscape. If you work in admissions, the registrar’s office, enrollment management, financial aid, transfer centers, information technology, or other areas that shape student pathways, this is your community.

Participants attend not just to develop professionally, but to contribute to a national movement. At The Assembly, attendees share data and insights, celebrate progress, and collaborate on the next generation of interventions. Whether you’re launching a new initiative or scaling an existing one, this is where your work connects to a broader effort, where learning mobility becomes a collective movement.

The Assembly Advisory Group

The Assembly Advisory Group provides valuable leadership and professional development experience. Committee members play an active role in shaping the content and participant experience of the Assembly; they collaborate with AACRAO staff to provide thematic guidance, ensuring the program addresses timely topics relevant to technology and transfer in higher education.
