How Do I Apply for an AACRAO Grant or Scholarship?

AACRAO is committed to supporting its members through its grants and scholarships to fund professional development and research. To apply for assistance with attending the Annual Meeting, follow the steps to apply for the Conner Scholarship or the Tina Falkner Engagement Grant.

Step 1: Click ‘Submit An Application’

  • You’ll be prompted to log in if you’re not already logged in.

Step 2: Fill In the Application Form

  • Select the grant you wish to apply for from the dropdown.
  • Enter your first and last name, your institution, your email address, and your title.
  • Select all the functional areas you are responsible for.
  • Select your institutional type from the dropdown.
  • Enter your institution’s state and country.
  • Enter your number of years in the higher-ed profession, and select your highest degree earned.

Step 3: Notify Your Reference & Enter Their Details

  • Use the search to find the AACRAO member who will provide your reference, or enter their details.
  • You MUST provide the name and email of the AACRAO member providing your reference. Once the application is submitted, your reference will be notified to provide their statement and complete your application.

Step 4: Attach Your Documents

  • Provide a personal statement. State specific professional development, engagement opportunities, and any supplemental information. *Minimum of 300 words
  • Upload your resume/CV and a statement of financial need if applying for the Engagement Grant.
  • All components should be kept separate to ensure the application is submitted as complete. Combining your documents may cause the system to count the application as incomplete, and it will not be reviewed.

Step 5: Submit Your Application

  • Avoid submitting multiple applications. Only one completed application will be reviewed per person.
  • You can save your form and come back to it, however, you must submit the final form for it to move to the next step. Ensure all required sections are filled. Incomplete applications will not be considered by the Awards Committee.

*For the Conner Scholarship and Tina Falkner Engagement Grant Only

Completed applications submitted by the deadline will be reviewed by the Awards Committee in early January. All applicants will be notified of decisions by mid-January. If you don’t receive anything, please contact awards@aacrao.org.
