Michelle Gierman was an adjunct faculty member at St. Clair County Community College (SC4) from January 2010 through May 2014. Her diverse background includes working in the Marian E. Wright Writing Center at University of Michigan-Flint as well as experience as a substitute teacher in various K–12 classrooms. She has taught college-level developmental writing for over four years. She currently serves in the Developmental Education Committee as well as the Academic Review Committee at SC4. She was awarded the Del James Blessinger Award for Teaching Excellence in May 2014. Her passion for influencing developmental learners early on led her to pursue K–12 opportunities, and in August she accepted a position as a full-time middle school ELA teacher for Port Huron Area School District. She plans to teach as an adjunct during the summer.
