Judith Maxwell Greig, Ph.D. has led Notre Dame de Namur University since January 2008, first as acting president and then as president. Under her leadership, the university has made a remarkable turnaround, increasing enrollment
by a third, qualifying as a Hispanic-Serving Institution, receiving national recognition for community engagement, and instituting the university’s first Ph.D. program.

Dr. Greig has served NDNU as an assistant professor, professor, dean of the School of Education and Leadership, interim vice president of Finance and Administration, interim vice president of Development, and provost as well as acting president.
As a faculty member she served on numerous governance committees and was president of the Faculty Senate for three years from 1996–1999. She holds a B.A. from Wheaton College, an M.A. from Santa Clara University, a second M.A. and a Ph.D. from
Stanford University.

Before coming to NDNU in 1988, Dr. Greig was a lecturer at San Jose State University and elementary and middle school teacher. Her chief academic and research interests are in understanding and facilitating how teaching and learning occur and in
