Developing and Implementing a SEM Plan: One University’s Journey

Kyle Baillie currently serves as the Director, Student Life and Development, at the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV), Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. Formerly, Mr. Baillie held the position of Director, Centre for Campus Life and Athletics, at Douglas College, New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada. Mr. Baillie has worked in postsecondary education since 2002, beginning his career at Centenary University, Hackettsown, New Jersey, United States, before joining Douglas College in 2006 and UFV in 2013. In addition to Mr. Baillie’s current administrator role at UFV, he has taught first-year political science and first-year student success courses. Mr. Baillie completed a bachelor of arts degree in 2002 and a master of arts degree in 2006 from Centenary University.

Jody Gordon currently serves as the Vice President, Students and Enrollment Management, at the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV), Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. Formerly, Ms. Gordon held the position of Associate Vice President, Students at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU), Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. Ms. Gordon has worked in postsecondary since 1992, beginning her career at Simon Fraser University before joining KPU in 1998 and UFV in 2012. In addition to Ms. Gordon’s current administrator role at UFV, she has taught first-year criminology students. Ms. Gordon completed a first-class honors bachelor of arts degree in 1992 and a master of arts degree in 1996 from Simon Fraser University. She was selected as the recipient of the 2009 Strategic Enrollment Management Award of Excellence in the Canadian Institutions category, an award cosponsored by AACRAO and Education Systems Inc.
