The Descriptive Geometry A and Applied Mathematics for Social Sciences (MACS) exams were the only ones to record averages below 10 , according to data released this Tuesday by the Ministry of Education regarding the results of the first phase of the national secondary school exams. The Descriptive Geometry A exam had the lowest average of this phase, with 8.9 points , while MACS recorded 9.2 points .
Among the national final exams, with more than 2,500 tests taken, those with the highest average scores were English , with 14.1 points , Drawing A , with 13.6 , Spanish , with 13.1 , and Portuguese and History of Culture and the Arts , with 12.6 each. Portuguese was the most taken exam, with a total of 76,939 tests.
Biology and Geology also had a high number of exams (37,703 tests), with an average of 12.4 points , representing an increase of 2.5 points compared to 2024. A year ago, Biology and Geology was the only test with an average of less than 10 points.
Mathematics A also had a high number of tests (35,651), with an average of 10.5 points , while Physics and Chemistry A had 34,589 tests , having obtained an average of 11.0 points .
Geography A scored 10.1 points, History A 10.9 points , Philosophy 10.4 points and Economics A 11.4 points . Portuguese Literature scored 10.6 points, Mathematics B 11.6 points and History B 10.9 points . Latin A scored an average of 12.7 points.
In foreign languages, French scored 13.0 , Spanish (continuation) 12.7 , German 12.6 , Italian 13.9 and Mandarin (beginner) 14.3 . Portuguese as a Second Language scored 13.0 and Portuguese as a Non-Native Language 13.8 .
