The My Right, My Place platform was implemented by the federal SEP starting in the 2025-2026 school year, to replace the exam of the Metropolitan Commission of Public Institutions of Higher Secondary Education (Comipems) , which assigned places in institutions in the Valley of Mexico area.
According to Delgado Carrillo, 19,069 young people registered on the platform, and 74.2% secured a place at their first-choice school. Prior to the implementation of this program, only 26% of applicants were admitted to their first-choice school, the secretary noted.
BUAP offers places for those not accepted into UNAM
In other news, Delgado Carrillo announced that there are 37,503 places available at various universities in the metropolitan area of the country for applicants to the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) who were not accepted after taking the entrance exam.
Among the institutions that have available spaces, the secretary mentioned the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP), where they offer 4,292 available spaces.
Other schools include the Rosario Castellanos National University with 10,000 spaces ; the National Technological Institute of Mexico, with 8,060; the Technological and Polytechnic Universities have 7,487; the Open and Distance University of Mexico, with 5,120 and the BUAP has 4,292.
Similarly, the Autonomous University of Mexico City has 863; the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico, 483; the Autonomous University of Tlaxcala, with 230; the National Pedagogical University, with 155 places; the Autonomous University of the State of Morelos has 58 and the Autonomous Metropolitan University offers 755 spaces.
The results of the UNAM exam will be released on August 29 and 30 , following the application of a second control exam due to the possible use of artificial intelligence by applicants in the remote test.
