The Technical High School is being implemented for the first time in our educational system this year, on a pilot basis, said Minister of Education Athina Michaelidou.
“We are moving forward with the implementation of yet another announcement by the Government. The Technical High School is being implemented for the first time this year in our educational system, on a pilot basis. We are moving forward in practice, with the strengthening of Technical and Vocational Education in our country,” noted Ms. Michaelidou in her post on ‘X’ on Saturday.
We provide opportunities, he added, to children from high school to become acquainted with technical professions.
As he said, the purpose of the Technical High School is to provide students with timely familiarization with technical professions and new technologies.
“Students will have the opportunity to acquire practical knowledge and develop life and training skills that will serve them in the future, regardless of their subsequent academic or professional choices. Additionally, they will be able to discover their inclinations and interests, but also understand the world of work and production from an early age,” he said.
The Minister noted that the implementation of this innovative educational policy is a necessity for our country.
“This is demonstrated by both the extremely low participation rates of high school graduates in Technical and Vocational Education and Training and the significant degree of skills mismatch observed between education and training,” he added.
We invest, he concluded, in the formation of a modern and effective school and we invest in the all-round development of our children, providing them with the opportunities they deserve.
