Contigo Navarra wants to compare the Baccalaureate grades and the results obtained in the University Entrance Exam (PAU) of students in the public and private-subsidized school systems . To this end, it has requested a comparative list from the Government’s Department of Education , showing the average grades of students’ academic records and the scores obtained in the PAU, with the data broken down by school .

In a statement, the coalition of Podemos, IU and Batzarre points out that in 2023 the Ombudsman urged the department to analyze the differences detected between Baccalaureate grades and Selectividad results in certain subsidized schools, “with the aim of guaranteeing the principles of equality, merit and ability in access to university.”

The parliamentary spokesperson for Contigo, Carlos Guzmán , maintains that “the debate” on the differences between Baccalaureate grades and PAU results “is present every academic year” in a “recurrent manner”.

Guzmán indicates that these are tests that directly influence access to university studies and that is why they are asking for “objective and verifiable” information, since “equal opportunities and maximum transparency in educational evaluation processes must be guaranteed,” he states in that press release.
