Adriana Rodriguez

Adriana J. Rodriguez serves as the Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Institutional
Programs at Excelencia in Education. Excelencia is a nonprofit in Washington, DC that works
nationally to accelerate Latino student success in higher education. She leads the strategic
direction and operations of the team that identifies and promotes evidence-based practices
working for Latino students (Examples of Excelencia). As the COO, she works closely with the
CEO to efficiently manage and improve the organization’s infrastructure and advance
Excelencia’s mission. Adriana has over 20 years of experience in secondary education with a
focus on school accountability and policy, data infrastructure, program design and continuous
improvement practices from her time at the Maya Angelou Schools and Raising Hispanic
Academic Achievement, Inc. While at the Maya Angelou Schools in Washington DC, she was a
tireless advocate among charter school and city officials to ensure the inclusion of alternative
youth populations in policy decisions. She has served on the board of Hispanics Against Child
Abuse and Neglect, Inc. and her local Arlington parish to be of service to her Northern Virginia
community.
