Dear Readers,
Sometimes a rainy weekend forces a pause, and sometimes that pause brings its own rain—a release from built-up, unexpressed emotional energy. How do you manage the tightness of stress or “strictus” that strengthens and stress that tears you down? Some tension helps us grow. Too much can fray what we have built or even cause injury. Support, comfort, help, and rest can seem like a guilty escape from responsibility and duty. But a pause to sit with memories, watch a movie, read a book, play pickleball or tennis, go fishing and skip stones, sit with knitting, or burst into maniacal laughter or ugly crying can all be small ways back to recovery from a long stretch of pressure.
