The Ministry of National Education held a strategic dialogue with the National Catholic Confederation of Education (CONACED) and representatives of the Colombian Association of Christian Schools (ASOBED) to advance a joint work agenda around the main challenges of the country and contribute to a relevant, humanistic education connected with the realities of the territories.
The meeting brought to the forefront key issues for the present and future of the education system. These included the review of curriculum guidelines, the strengthening of a holistic, values-based education, the role of families and educational communities, and the training and recognition of teachers as fundamental actors in educational transformation processes.
The conversation also addressed the challenges posed by the incorporation of technology and artificial intelligence in education, highlighting the importance of moving towards a responsible use of these tools and strengthening the capacities of educational communities to respond to social, cultural and technological transformations.
Another topic discussed was the need to deepen the articulation between secondary education, technical training, and higher education, so that educational pathways allow for broader opportunities for students and strengthen their capacities to contribute to the social and productive development of the country.
As a result of the meeting, it was proposed to move forward with structured working groups, with the participation of experts, educational institutions, academia, and representatives from the public and private sectors. These forums will allow for deeper discussions and contribute to the development of educational guidelines and policies with a territorial focus and a long-term vision.
