The drop in applications and placements already indicated this, but with the conclusion of the third phase of the national higher education entrance exam, it’s now possible to do the math: this year, 5,322 fewer students entered through the national entrance exam than last year. But there’s more: some polytechnic institutes only managed to fill a third of the initial places they made available for this exam, which is where a large portion of students entering higher education enter.
