The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation (Sectei) of Mexico City has published the enrollment call for the 2026 Online High School program for residents of the capital wishing to pursue their upper secondary education.
For this year, 12,000 new spots will be available for this modality, divided into four generations: 2026-A, 2026-B, 2026-C, and 2026-D. Each group will have a capacity for 3,000 new students, according to the announcement published in the Official Gazette.
Program Details
This modality grants 290 credits and is designed to be completed in two and a half years. The curriculum includes:
A preparatory course (10 credits).
12 mandatory subjects distributed across four modules (264 credits).
16 elective credits that students can earn based on their interests through activities at PILARES (Points of Innovation, Freedom, Art, Education, and Knowledge), the Mexico City Sports Institute (Indeporte), and other educational institutions in CDMX.
Requirements for 2026 Online High School Enrollment
According to the announcement, the requirements to enter the Sectei 2026 online high school are as follows:
Secondary Education Certificate: Must have a certificate proving the completion of secondary school (middle school equivalent).
Basic Computer Skills: Proficiency in using a computer and office software (Word and Excel). Those lacking these skills can visit PILARES Cyber-schools for basic computing courses.
Email Account: An active, personal email address to receive communications and notices.
Internet Access: Access to a computer (preferred) or a mobile device with an internet connection to access the educational platform.
Time Commitment: Ability to dedicate 24 hours per week to studying and completing activities on time, following a schedule chosen by the student based on work, family, and personal commitments.
Digital Documentation: Scanned copies of original documents (in PDF format, separate files, max size 2,048 Kb each—images, photos of documents, or mobile app scans will not be accepted):
Valid official ID.
CURP (Unique Population Registry Code).
Original secondary school certificate.
Proof of address (no older than three months) confirming the applicant resides within Mexico City territory.
