The Ministry of Education has decided to temporarily suspend classes at all educational institutions until August 15, in line with the government’s announcement to tighten restrictions due to a covid-19 outbreak.
The announcement came after a meeting between Education Minister Musa Al-Maqrif, the head and members of the scientific advisory committee at the ministry, and the Director of the National Center for Disease Control Badr Al-Din Al-Najjar.
Members of the ministry’s scientific advisory committee of the central, southern, and eastern regions joined the debate via closed circles due to the Covid-19-related restrictions.
The officials will meet next Wednesday to decide on a way forward for classes and exams. They also emphasized the need to provide all educational institutions with the Covid-19 health guidelines and ensure their implementation.
