The Ministry of Education and Vocational Training of the Generalitat has published the modification of the Baccalaureate decree that unifies the subjects of Biology and Geology and those of Physics and Chemistry in the 1st year.
According to a statement released by the department on Monday, the changes implemented represent an adaptation of the decree to state regulations and affect certain aspects of specific areas in the first year of Baccalaureate, adding that they will not affect students taking the university entrance exams.
The changes applied in the decree will unify the subjects of Biology and Geology, along with Environmental Sciences, and similarly with Physics and Chemistry.
The Education Department has stated that this redistribution will not result in any loss of teaching hours, as the department will reinforce all subjects with an additional hour, reaching a total of 4 hours. Furthermore, with the aim of minimizing disruption to student guidance, five pathways have also been created, focused on different higher education options that may interest each student.
