Of the 3,483 candidates for the various secondary school leaving exams in Luxembourg, 2,612 obtained their diploma. The overall success rate therefore stands at 75%, down slightly from recent years: 76% in 2021, and 78% on average over the last decade, between 2012 and 2021.
“Although the candidates for the school leaving examination have lived through three school years under the influence of the pandemic, their results are quite honorable and are a continuation of the previous years. With their diploma in hand, students are now well prepared for their future studies or professional life. And this thanks to the commitment of the entire school community”, welcomed the Minister of National Education, Children and Youth Claude Meisch (DP), in a press release.
83% in classic, 68% in general

Girls more successful

Finally, with regard to grades, 116 students obtained an “excellent” grade (average equal to or greater than 52 points). They are 105 in classical education (8% of new graduates) and 11 in general education (4%). On the podium of the sectors, we find the natural sciences-mathematics section on the highest step (44 “excellent” mentions), ahead of the mathematics-computer science section (29) and the economics-mathematics section (10).
