The 2021 National Assessment (AN) to replace the National Examination will begin in November 2021. The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbud Ristek) said that the 2021 AN will be carried out in educational units in areas that are allowed to carry out limited face-to-face learning based on government regulations and with strict health protocols. Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Mendikbud Ristek), Nadiem Anwar Makarim explained the importance of holding AN in the midst of a pandemic like today.
According to him, mapping the quality of education is very important to be carried out immediately so that as soon as possible, the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology knows how far behind the world of our education is due to Covid-19. Because, at this time it is very necessary to analyze data related to learning losses that occur.
“Precisely with the pandemic, AN becomes much more important to know how much we are behind, including anything and everywhere. With AN, we also know the areas and schools that most need assistance,” he said as quoted from the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology website, Tuesday (24/8/2021). AN will only be carried out if the area has limited face-to-face learning (PTM), namely the PPKM area level 1-3. The implementation of this year’s AN will be adaptive and flexible according to the pandemic situation in various regions. As for the regions that have not been able to implement the AN this year, it will be scheduled for February, March, and April 2022.
