International Education Standards Council Fellow Application

International Education Standards Council (IESC) Fellows work under the guidance of the IESC. The IESC is a volunteer assembly of experienced professionals in international admissions and credential evaluations.

The IESC Fellowship program offers hands-on experience in conducting research, engaging in deep discussions, and presenting findings to the broader community. Each fellow will work on an assigned research project and produce a white paper in collaboration with experts. This is a great opportunity for talented professionals who want to become more successful in and contribute to the field of international credential evaluation.

IESC Fellows will gain valuable insight and learn best practices from professionals with decades of experience. The knowledge gained with this Fellowship will be instantly applicable when setting and implementing standards within your office and will empower you to establish procedures with confidence for you and your colleagues.

Beyond those benefits, you will increase your knowledge and skill sets and gain an opportunity to present at a professional conference and publish your findings in a global database and other widely distributed works.

The AACRAO IESC is a volunteer assembly of experienced professionals in international admissions and credential evaluations. In response to changes in global education systems, research projects are delegated to IESC members, and findings are presented to the group for further debate with an ultimate goal of forming placement recommendations for inclusion in the Credential Advice or broader guidelines found in AACRAO EDGE, the Electronic Database for Global Education. Every year, a substantive research topic is identified as a subject for two Fellows to work on.

Ideal applicants will be fairly new to the field and looking for ways to grow in their profession.

• Fellows are expected to participate in twice-monthly hour-long conference calls.
• Priority will be given, but not limited to, individuals at AACRAO member institutions.
• The Fellowship will last no longer than 18-months, to maximize the number of individuals who will benefit from this opportunity. There will be no more than two Fellows each year.
• Fellows will be tasked with specific research projects to be considered for inclusion within AACRAO EDGE.
• Preference is given to those with less than 10 years of international credential evaluation experience.
• Fellows selected are invited to join the International Publication Advisory Committee (IPAC), which provides additional opportunities for professional collaboration and publication, once their term ends and their research is completed.
