AACRAO Joins a Community Letter Opposing Establishing a ~$100K Fee for all H-1B Cap-Subject Petitions

The Department of Homeland Security recently proposed a rule that would establish a $103,265 fee for all H–1B cap-subject petitions, which would be imposed in addition to all other applicable fees or payments. Although higher education institutions are exempt from this proposed fee, AACRAO still has concerns that it would have a detrimental effect on the U.S.’ ability to recruit and maintain global talent and would ultimately harm the nation’s economy.
