Whitney Costner serves as Director of Registrar Services at Florence-Darlington Technical College and brings more than 15 years of progressive experience in higher education. She began her higher education career as a student worker and, through a variety of roles focusing on degree audit, data quality, academic records, and registrar operations, progressed over the years into leadership positions. This journey ultimately led her to Registrar leadership and has given her a broad perspective and deep appreciation for the impact higher education has on students and institutions.

Whitney holds an M.S. in Criminal Justice and a B.S. in Business Informatics and has built a career centered on student success, compliance, and process improvement. In her current role, she oversees academic records, degree audit initiatives, compliance efforts, and cross-functional projects focused on strengthening the student experience.

Her interest in advocacy stems from a desire to better understand how legislative decisions are made and from seeing firsthand how legislation can create opportunities or barriers for students, particularly those balancing work, family responsibilities, and financial challenges. She is passionate about connecting policy to practice and advocating for informed decisions that support student access and success.
