Naomi Long is the Government Relations Intern at AACRAO, where she
works to support AACRAO’s policy priorities and federal relations.
Originally from New Jersey, Long is a first-generation student who
graduated with honors from Brookdale Community College with a degree
in political science and is now a senior at George Washington University.
At GW, she is a Presidential Scholar and the President of the Transfer
Student Association where she leads the transfer population in advocacy,
community, and integration. Being deeply passionate about equity in
education access and improving the transfer student experience, Long
works to elevate the voices of underserved students on her campus and
beyond.
Alongside her work at AACRAO, Long is a Research Intern for the
Community College Research Center (CCRC) at Teachers’ College, Columbia
University, where she supports advising and first-generation research.
Long also works as a Government Relations Intern at UNITE for Safe
Social Media, a nonprofit dedicated to creating and protecting safeguards
for minors online. She previously worked as a Legislative Intern in the U.S.
House of Representatives and as a Policy Intern for the Greater Washington
Partnership, where she worked to promote strong pathways between the
local higher education institutions and employers to ensure college
graduates were prepared to successfully enter the workforce.
