Slated Position: 2027-2028 N&E Committee Member Candidate
Position Statement

I am thrilled to accept the nomination for the Nominations and Elections Committee.

AACRAO has played a meaningful role in my professional life, and I am grateful for the

opportunity to give back to a community that has shaped my growth, my leadership, and

my understanding of what it means to serve with integrity. I am seeking this role

because I believe deeply in the importance of thoughtful, inclusive, and values-driven

leadership, and I want to support a process that helps AACRAO continue to thrive.

My previous AACRAO service, including my time as a member, Vice Chair, and Chair of

the Enrollment Management and Retention Committee, showed me how essential it is

to have leaders who reflect the diversity and strengths of our membership. Through

those experiences, I learned how powerful it can be when people are encouraged to

step forward, share their expertise, and see themselves as part of AACRAO’s future.

That perspective is what motivates me to serve on the Nominations and Elections

Committee.

If elected, I will focus on three priorities: broadening engagement, strengthening

transparency, and supporting a fair and equitable selection process.

I will advance our existing momentum to broaden engagement, inviting an even wider

range of members to see themselves in AACRAO leadership. Our community already

benefits from diverse voices, and expanding those opportunities will enrich our

collective work. I am committed to strengthening a leadership pipeline that reflects the

full spectrum of experiences, identities, and institutional contexts across AACRAO.

I will strengthen the strong transparency practices already in place throughout the

nominations and elections cycle. Clear, accessible communication has long supported

member confidence and participation, and I am committed to expanding that work. By

collaborating closely with committee colleagues and AACRAO staff, I will help ensure

that timelines, criteria, and responsibilities continue to be shared in ways that are

consistent, welcoming, and easy to navigate.

I will contribute to a fair and thoughtful review process. My background in enrollment

management, student success, and academic operations has prepared me to evaluate

information carefully, ask meaningful questions, and make decisions grounded in

values. I will bring that same approach to evaluating candidates, ensuring that each

nominee is considered with respect and care.

I am eager to deepen my engagement with AACRAO through service that aligns with

the association’s values and long‑term needs. The Nominations and Elections

Committee plays a critical role in shaping leadership and fostering a healthy,

transparent governance process. Contributing to this work would allow me to support

emerging leaders while helping sustain AACRAO’s strength for years to come, and I

would be honored to serve in this capacity.
