Bryan Ashton serves as the Chief Strategy and Growth Officer for Trellis and Head of Trellis Strategies. He holds a bachelor’s in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting from Ohio State University and a Master’s in Education (Ed.M.) with a focus in Higher Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
Ashton leads efforts at Trellis to continue evolving the organization to meet the needs of modern learners across the country, which includes leading Trellis Strategies, a nonprofit research and technical assistance organization that supported more than 350 institutions of higher education in 2025. Ashtonalso heads the government affairs and public policy functions for Trellis, an entity with over 40 years of government contracting experience. Additionally, he is the Co-Founder of the Higher Education Financial Wellness Alliance and a frequent speaker at national conferences on issues of college access and affordability.
