Position Statement
I am pleased to submit my nomination for the AACRAO Nominations & Elections Committee. If selected, I would work collaboratively with the committee to identify and advance a strong, diverse slate of candidates for leadership roles across the association. I am deeply committed to ensuring that AACRAO’s leadership reflects the breadth of perspectives, experiences, and institutional types represented within our membership. By intentionally elevating emerging leaders and broadening participation, I believe we can position AACRAO to continue evolving alongside the changing landscape of higher education.
I am particularly drawn to the thoughtful, structured work of the Nominations & Elections Committee. The responsibility of identifying, vetting, and presenting nominees requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to transparent, equitable processes are values that I bring to my professional work every day. I approach complex processes with care and precision, and I enjoy collaborating with others to ensure that decisions are both well-informed and aligned with organizational priorities. I would welcome the opportunity to contribute these strengths to support the committee’s important work.
I have been an AACRAO member for six years, since becoming an Associate Registrar at the University of Arizona. Over that time, AACRAO has played a central role in my professional growth and development. I served as the Federal Compliance Committee Program Area Coordinator (PAC) chair for two years and have presented at five AACRAO Annual Meetings. These experiences reinforced my belief in the importance of strong, engaged leadership within AACRAO – leadership that the Nominations & Elections Committee helps to cultivate.
Beyond my AACRAO involvement, I serve as the Chair of the AAU Registrars Leadership Evolution and Development (LEAD) group. I was part of the inaugural planning group in 2022 and previously served as both the Membership Coordinator and Vice-Chair. In these roles, I have built and sustained a community focused on professional development and leadership support for associate and deputy registrars at AAU institutions. This experience has reinforced the importance of creating intentional spaces for connection, mentorship, and growth.
If selected for the Nominations & Elections Committee, I would bring a strong commitment to fostering these connections by helping identify candidates who are engaged, forward-thinking, and representative of our diverse membership. AACRAO has had a profound impact on my career, and I am grateful for the opportunities it has provided me to grow as a leader and collaborator. I would be honored to serve and to help ensure that AACRAO continues to be guided by strong, diverse, and visionary leaders.
