If you had to guess how many times you replay a conversation, revisit an old idea, recap a scenario, or reflect on an event, what would your answer be? These actions, often taken for granted, share more than just intention. The Latin prefix “re-” calls us “back from” or “once more” and in these actions, we often find mistakes or unexpected insights, fresh opportunities, and other ways forward.
There is a good reason why we take time to rewind, in the hope that it can repay us with clarity or wisdom, and perhaps reveal hidden connections that we missed the first time around.
