Technology change in higher education requires more than selecting the right system or completing a successful implementation. It also requires thoughtful communication, meaningful stakeholder engagement, and ongoing support for the people whose work is affected by the change. The September AACRAO Collective Gathering invites members to participate in a peer-driven conversation about the human factors that influence technology adoption and organizational change.
This virtual gathering will provide a space for practitioners to exchange experiences and explore common challenges. Discussion topics will include engaging stakeholders, communicating throughout a technology initiative, preparing employees for new processes, addressing resistance, and supporting adoption beyond implementation. Participants will also have an opportunity to consider how leadership, training, institutional culture, and cross-functional collaboration can contribute to successful and sustainable change.
Designed as an informal, discussion-based session, this Collective Gathering will use guiding questions to encourage open dialogue and shared learning. Whether you are leading a major system implementation, introducing new technology within your office, or supporting colleagues through changing processes, this session offers an opportunity to connect with AACRAO colleagues, share lessons learned, and gain practical perspectives from others navigating similar transitions.
