AI use is becoming routine for students, even as campus rules remain uneven. Gallup reported in April 2026 that more than half of enrolled students say their institution either discourages or prohibits AI use, while EDUCAUSE’s 2026 research highlights misinformation, data use without consent, and loss of fundamental skills as top concerns.
Yet many institutions are still working out what responsible use looks like in practice.
- Does your institution have an AI governance/use policy? If so, were you or your teams involved?
- How have you, your office, or your institution navigated AI without guidance/structure?
- How are you or your team using AI and encouraging staff engagement with AI tools?
- What are some ways you are using AI in your work?
Our June AACRAO Collective Gathering on June 11, 2026, invites higher education professionals to compare notes on AI governance, practical use cases, staff engagement, and shared concerns around privacy, ethics, accuracy, and human judgment. Bring your questions, your examples, and your emerging lessons.
