The Michigan Association of State Universities is leading a statewide effort to expand reverse transfer across all 15 Michigan public universities, supported by a $255,000 state College Success Grant. The initiative is helping universities establish more consistent processes for identifying eligible students and sharing course and grade information with community colleges through the National Student Clearinghouse’s Reverse Transfer service, allowing students who transferred before earning an associate’s degree to potentially receive the credential while continuing toward a bachelor’s degree. Four universities are already using the service, while the remaining institutions are in various stages of development and testing.
