The Minister of Education in Paris announced that the common assessment tests for first and final students, planned for the baccalaureate, would be canceled in favor of continuous assessment due to the health crisis.
The three common evaluations of first and final are therefore canceled and replaced by the averages of the school reports. The subjects concerned by the cancellation of the evaluations are history-geography, modern languages, the specialty that is not pursued in terminal, as well as mathematics for the technological path and scientific education for the general path.
On the other hand, two subjects to choose from for the final exams of the specialty courses.
The specialty courses will be held on the scheduled dates: March 15 to 17, 2021.
“To guarantee that the pupils will be questioned on elements actually studied within the framework of the programs, all the disciplines concerned will propose two subjects or exercises to choose from in order to cover all the themes studied. The pedagogical expectations of each discipline will be communicated to the pupils and the correctors will follow precise evaluation grids on each subject ”, specifies the local education union, Snetaa FO Polynesia.
The marks obtained in the specialty tests will be taken into account in Parcoursup, the calendar of which remains unchanged.
For candidates who will not have been able to go to the specialty tests in March due to force majeure, the replacement tests will take place in June.
Likewise, high schools in France will be authorized to carry out part of their distance education because of the new coronavirus and the baccalaureate exams will be adapted, announced yesterday the Minister of National Education, faced with a grumbling teachers and some high school students faced with measures deemed insufficient to prevent the spread of the epidemic.
“Due to the very specific health circumstances, we must take adaptation measures.” Regarding the reception of high school students in their establishments, they must “put in place a pedagogical continuity plan which guarantees at least 50% face-to-face teaching for each student”. Each school head can adjust according to their appreciation, reception in half-groups, reception by level and remote work one or two days a week.
