The Ministry of Education announced on the 18th that the 2029 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT), which will be taken by first-year high school students, will be implemented on November 16, 2028.
The reorganization system for the 2029 College Scholastic Ability Test will remain the same, including the abolition of elective courses in the areas of Korean language, mathematics, and exploration that will be applied from 2028.
In the areas of Korean language, mathematics, social and scientific exploration, and vocational exploration, all candidates take the same subject without elective subjects, and in the second foreign language/Korean language area, one of nine subjects is selected. Korean history is a mandatory examination area.
Grades will be notified on December 8, 2028.
The Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation, an organization for the CSAT, will announce a basic plan for the implementation of the CSAT for the 2029 school year in March 2028, including the principles of the CSAT.
