In-Person Event | July 15 - 18, 2024
The International Institute is an intensive, in-person faculty-led training covering best-industry practices for the evaluation of international credentials that utilizes AACRAO’s On-Demand International Series. Through a holistic and applied approach
to international comparative education, participants will have the tools to evaluate authentic international credentials from the countries covered, as well as others that follow a similar system.
The July International Institute covers the fundamentals of international credentials and will focus on transfer credit methodologies, as well as freshman and graduate admissions.
Topics covered include
- The Foundations
- Transfer Credit
- China
- India Fundamentals
- Latin and South America, including Mexico, Brazil, and Colombia
- The United Kingdom and Europe
- Central Asia, including Uzbekistan.
In addition to the in-person faculty-led sessions, participants will take courses from AACRAO’s On-Demand International Series prior to attending the Institute. This provides context before attending the in-person sessions, where the application of skill sets will be focused. Upon successful completion of each course, participants in the AACRAO International Institute will be awarded the AACRAO International Series badges.

The International Institute will be held from Monday, July 15-18, 2024, in Washington, D.C., at Yours Truly D.C. Hotel. The welcome reception will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Mercy Me at the hotel. Breakfast will be provided from Tuesday, July 16, to Thursday, July 18, with lunch on your own each day.
