Join us on Thursday, March 19, 2020, from 2-3 PM EDT for a webinar titled, "Demystifying the Cambridge International Transcript in the US: We Need Your Input."

In the early part of the 21st century, George Bernard Shaw observed that “England and America are two countries separated by a common language.”  This has become readily apparent as Cambridge Assessment International Education, the world’s largest provider of grades 9-12 international education, has grown in the United States over the past several decades.  The number of U.S. high school students enrolled in Cambridge International AS and A Level courses has more than doubled in the past five years. With more than 500 schools now offering Cambridge International curriculum in the United States, the demand for standardization of Cambridge International nomenclature across the United States is strong and growing. The goal of this project is to inform the descriptions of Cambridge International products in the United States to optimize use of Cambridge International by US colleges and universities.

Cambridge International is currently gathering input to update our records that American colleges and universities review from Cambridge International high schools in the United States as well as the Cambridge International official results transcripts sent from the University of Cambridge in England.  Accordingly, we are examining how Cambridge International schools in the United States are recording Cambridge International A and AS levels on their high school transcripts and school profiles. Equally critical is identifying and replacing or explaining confusing terminology or additional information required on the Cambridge International official Statement of Results and Certificate for US admissions officers and registrars for clear communication and accurate understanding.

The goal of this project is to ensure that the lines of communication and understanding are clear by standardizing the terminology and acronyms used among domestic Cambridge International schools as well as on Cambridge International’s official records for US students.  Standard nomenclature will allow for the efficient processing of increasing volumes of Cambridge International students by US admissions officers and registrars. The primary purpose of this project is to build toolkits for US college and university administrators to empower them to quickly identify our exams in their admissions and registrar processes.

Cambridge International will be conducting research to solicit feedback from admissions officers and registrars regarding a new Cambridge International web-based statement of results process which will allow Cambridge International students in the US to electronically send their exam grades to US colleges and universities. Please contact Caroline Cooper at Caroline.Cooper@cambridgeinternational.org if you would like to participate.
